If you see the below picture every time you plug a flash drive. Then you must Encrypt your external drive if you need upload/download files.
To encrypt your external storage device; flash drives, hard disk drives, solid state drives. Please follow the below steps:
- Plug in your external device to your company PC and encrypt the drive
Note: if you only want to see the files, you can select the option Don't encrypt this drive. You will be able to see the files and folder.
- Check the box and create a password to unlock the external device when connected for use, once done click Next
- Print the recovery key, you will be able to unlock your encryption with this information as well. Then press Next
- Encrypt entire drive and press Next. This step will take 30 minutes to an hour to complete, please do not unplug the external device during this time.
- Once the drive is encrypted you’ll be asked to unlock it when it’s connected for use
- Locate the encrypted drive in file explorer and right click to unlock
Note: Please be aware that after the encryption, you must need to enter the password every time you connect the device to any Laptop/desktop.
